The Optical Lens Support for the SGE masks is made in a way to rapidly fit corrective standard lenses without the need to use any tool and/or glue.
The lenses are mounted on the frame which snaps into the inside of the mask. After mounting the lenses on the frame, this is snapped inside the mask, inserting it on the
face seal. The system, ensures a large field of vision, avoids any fogging of lenses.

An essential accessory for users of prescription eyewear /
corrective
lenses.  In an emergency, having clear vision & the ability to negotiate
obstacles
is a basic requirement.  Gas masks CANNOT be used with regular glasses because the ‘arms’ extend past the sealing surface of mask & therefore compromise the airtight seal of the respirator.  Contact lenses are not suitable either due to the risk of contaminates getting under the lenses which then cannot be eliminated by tears & cannot be easily decontaminated.  In addition in any environment containing toxic agents / compounds the last thing a user wants to do is transfer any toxic agents to their eyes by using a finger to remove contact lenses.  If wearing gloves that would be completely impossible & therefore would require a user to have access to a safe environment to remove the mask & gloves, etc.  This item is designed to work exclusively with the SGE-series of gas masks & will not work with other gas masks manufactured by other companies.
