FROM MADEIRA WITH LOVE…..
Estate find…
Previously owned, a recent attic find… a surplus tile, probably left over when fireplace surrounds
were installed generations ago.
An antique tile that had been hand crafted, made in Portugal by the Gresval Factory
A bold architectural design is deeply molded and glazed in a striking earth tones.
The tile measures 15.5cm (6″) square, approximately 1cm (1/2″) thick.
It has survived free of chips, cracks or glaze issues…appears to have previously been set
Any crudities present are the result of being hand crafted.
I inserted a standard size playing card in one photo for size reference.
